Wholesome Holdings and Brazos Private Equity Partners announced today the acquisition of Impact Confections Inc. and its subsidiary Melster Candies Inc. Wholesome Holdings Chairman Terry O’Brien, formerly CEO at Brachs Confections, will serve as Chairman and work actively with Founder Brad Baker and the management team to maximize the Company’s potential.

Commenting on the acquisition, O’Brien noted “The team at Impact has worked hard to establish relatively strong niche positions in sour candy and chocolate covered seasonal candy. The challenge now is to solidify both positions via smart marketing, increased sales activity and focused manufacturing strategies. We like the confections space and will continue to look for further add on acquisitions.”

Impact is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO and operates plants in New Mexico and Wisconsin. The company is best known for its Warheads brand of extreme sour candy that teens and tweens have loved for 20 years. On the Melster Candies side, nationally the company holds the #1 position in circus peanuts and the #2 position behind Russell Stover in the chocolate covered marshmallow segment.
