10/15/08:
Golden County Foods
Announces Executive Changes. Golden County Foods Chairman
Terry O’Brien announced the hiring of Ray Booth
as CEO and Doug Reed as CFO in conjunction with other
changes at the frozen foods manufacturer. Booth previously
served as COO at Country Fresh Dairy and as COO at
Dallas-based Reddy Ice. Reed has served in a variety
of senior financial positions at Frito Lay, Heinz
and most recently as CFO at privately owned _____in
Harrisburg, PA. Both executives will be based in Plover,
Wisconsin.
O’Brien noted
“Having worked previously with Ray Booth, I
have no doubt he will bring the leadership, efficiency
focus and support for new innovation that we need
to take this company to the next level. Golden County
Foods has always had an extremely high level of customer
service and this will continue under Ray. Additionally,
adding a CFO like Doug Reed will help us greatly in
providing more financial insight to our management
team, our Board and our lenders. We acquired this
company after seeing the excellent assets, talent
and commitment. We intend to move quickly to strengthen
the company from an infrastructure, sales and marketing
standpoint to allow the historic growth to continue."
The moves follow the
investment by Wholesome Holdings and Brazos Private
Equity Partners in a very large, state of the art
capacity expansion of its Plover, WI appetizer facility.
In tandem with the expansion, new sales and marketing
talent was recruited to further expand growth. The
company is amongst the leaders in providing batter,
breaded appetizers and frozen snacks to the retail
and foodservice channels. Several top food manufacturers
have divested of their production lines and moved
production into Golden County’s facilities.
